To perform a global search for tasks and events, drag up the bottom nav bar. Click the settings button in the search bar to customize the search results.

As a note, Apple events and reminders can only be searched back or forward 2 years. Events and reminders assigned to Informant Sync can be searched back 15 years and forward 5 years.
